SANTO AGUA

An old wooden bridge in Baryo Santo Agua is the silent witness of this story of leaving and coming back, of living and dying. Five childhood friends come home through this bridge to find cure for their respective illnesses.

Ramon is a writer. He writes the voices that only him hears. He discovers through his dreams the secret of river that runs dry and the sound of ocean waves in the mountains of Santo Agua. Israel heals everyone else’s ailment by his ‘santigwar’ but he won’t attend to Ramon’s schizophrenia so that they’ll know why his father crossed the bridge and never return. Luisa is a theater actor, and she’ll embody the characters in Ramon’s dreams. From Manila, Maimai returns home to Santo Agua to give birth to her child because his husband, Mike, left for a news coverage but never came home.
